Lakeridge is a premier semi-private golf course. The layout of this Robert Trent Jones, Sr. design facility offers breathtaking views of Reno and the surrounding mountains. The signature hole, number 15, is a world-famous par 3 set high atop Lake Stanley to an enticing green island. (see my pictures attached) This course has been voted “Best of Reno” year after year and now that I played it, I can understand why.

First Impressions:
Before I could walk into the club house, I noticed this very impressive rock and waterfall on the side of the building (picture attached). Just seeing this was a clue I was in for a treat playing this course. I was not disappointed.
About the course:
The course has amazing views of mountains everywhere you look. The greens and fairways are in excellent condition. However, some areas of the fairway are very soft and in one spot my ball plugged so deep I had to dig it out (see picture attached). The signature hole #15 is just amazing and fun to play. If you are in the area this is one course, you simply must play.
About Our Game:
Very early on in the game I could see I was playing with 3 pretty good golfers. Brian made the first par on hole #2, then David got par on hole #3 and Ryan hit a shot from 80 yards out on hole #7 and missed birdie by about 4”. See the picture attached showing a big divot flying in the air.
On the green at hole #8 we had an interesting and controversial incident. David made a long put that struck Ryan’s ball and knocked it in the hole which Ryan claimed par for the hole. It was fun and amazing to see. On hole #11 (par 4) I made my 2nd shot that landed just about 2 feet in front of one of those Marmot critters lying on the green. At hole #14 (307 yards par 4) Brian drove the green and made par. David and Ryan also made par and I got a bogie (ugh!). When we got to hole #15 (the signature par 3 with an island green, the view was just amazing. The pressure was on each of us to make the green without going in the water. We all made the green but only Ryan made par. David, Brian, and I made bogie and were happy with that. There would be one more par after that which was made by Ryan on hole #17. It was a great day for me even though I ended up with a higher score than I normally can do. David, Brian, and Ryan were a lot of fun to golf with and when you golf with people like that it makes a bad score not matter much.
After a not so good 1st tee shot, I got a difficult start and scored a double bogie on the first hole. After that I started getting a little better and made my first par on hole #4. On hole #8 Lou hit a nice shot that landed just about 5 feet from the hole and putted it in for a bogie. On hole #9 I was about 50 yards from the green and hit a shot that landed about 8 feet from the hole and ended up with a bogie. On hole #10 we both got on the green in regulation, and we both ended up with a bogie. Lou was frustrated by missing some par putts by maybe ¼’ several times. On hole #12 (par 3) Lou hit a tee shot that landed about 10 feet from the hole and went on to make par.
Results:
David 2-Par 1-birdie
Brian 4-Par 0-birdie
Ryan 4-Par 0-birdie
Tony 1-Par 0-birdie
My Favorite Hole:
My favorite hole must be everyone’s favorite hole that plays this course. The very picturesque hole #15 high up on the hill with the island green below is just amazing. I made it on the green and scored a bogie and was happy with that.
