I arrived about 9:30 AM for my 11:28 T-time. I met with Mike Elmore (GM) and he set me up to play with George. Mike was very helpful in helping me plan this event and I highly recommend reaching out to him if you need any assistance for your plan to play here.

I had some time to check out the property, hit some balls at the range, and practice a little putting.  I met up with George at the putting area and we chatted a bit to get to know each other. It was a nice sunny day and about 68 degrees when we started our game.

About the course:

This course is known as “The Locals Favorite” and I can see why since it is located just minutes away from downtown Coeur d’ Alene and is very picturesque with lots of tree lined fairways, very well maintained, and has a great pro shop and restaurant. The course is the first public golf course in the county and incorporated in the same month and year I was born. I found this to be a fun course to play and it offers golfers a great value for a par 72, 18- hole championship public golf course.

My Golf Partner:

I had the pleasure and honor to play with George. George is a member of the course and was a great help in providing all sorts of valuable information about each hole to help my game. George is a very good golfer and has a record of 5 hole-in one on this course. I am still trying to get one anywhere and this guy has five.

At the end of the day George won the game with a score of 87 to my 91. He also won the par contest with 7 to my 5. I hope he is willing to give me a re-match someday even though I doubt I could win but the experience of playing with him would be fun and valuable.

About our game:

We started out on hole #10 and I made par and George got a bogie. I thought I was off to a great start but it was not to last very long.

#16 (par 5) George hit into some trees but managed to get out and make par.

#2 (par 3) we both fell short of the green. I chipped up and hit the pin and we both made bogie.

#4 (par 4) I hit into a sand trap and had a horrible time getting out. I made a 7 and was my worst hole of the day.

#7 (par 4) Out tee shots landed very close to each other (see picture) and we both made par.

#8 (par4) we both made back-to-back par.

My favorite hole:

I like hole #7 because it is a long par 4 and I pared it. I also like hole #18 because it is a long par 5 and I pared that one also and beat George.
