About Me

I am a retired security systems professional and worked in this industry for over 30 years. I also have some experience as a police officer and federal prison guard. I got interested in golf after some co-works forced me to join them in some games. We played “best ball” so the pressure on me was not so bad in the very beginning. It gave me the time I needed to get accustomed to the game and build enough confidence to go out and play for individual scores. I quickly got hooked on the atmosphere of the game and I found more joy in just being out there then actually winning or being an exceptionally good player.

One of the nice things about the game is that other golfers hardly ever comment or do anything to make you feel bad when you have a bad shot or just a bad game. They know it can and does happen to them as well. I do not play with anyone that is that consistently good. If anyone gets that good they generally look to join other groups that are equally as good. I have a good time just hanging out with others that like the game and they go out there mostly just for the fun of it and not to get involved in any real competition.

I play golf just for the fun of it and my goal now is just to do my best to stay healthy and keep on enjoying the days ahead as much as possible. If I can inspire others to do the same then all the better.
